JassE: Journal of Social Sciences and Education is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year. This statement briefly describes the ethics of all parties involved in the publication of articles in JassE: Journal of Social Sciences and Education, including authors, editors, peer-reviewers, and the Faculty of Social Sciences and Teacher Training as publishers. This statement was compiled based on COPE's Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
The publication of articles in JassE: Journal of Social Sciences and Education that have gone through a peer review process is an important foundation in the development of a coherent and respected knowledge network. This is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Articles that have gone through a peer review process support and realize the scientific method. Therefore, it is important to agree on the standards of ethical behavior expected of all parties involved in the publishing process: authors, journal editors, peer reviewers, publishers, and the public.
The Faculty of Social Sciences and Teacher Training as the publisher of JassE: Journal of Social Sciences and Education carries out its supervisory duties over all stages of publication seriously and is aware of its ethical and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprints, or other commercial revenue does not influence editorial decisions.
The editors of JassE: Journal of Social Sciences and Education are responsible for deciding which articles to publish from this journal. The validation of the work in question and the importance of the work to the researcher and the reader must always be the basis for the decision. Editors may be guided by the journal's editorial board policies and are limited by applicable legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors can consult with other editors or reviewers in making these decisions.
An editor at any time evaluates a manuscript based on its intellectual content regardless of the author's race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy.
The editor and all editorial staff may not disclose any information about the submitted manuscript to anyone other than the author concerned, reviewers, prospective reviewers, other editorial advisors, and publishers, as appropriate.
Unpublished material disclosed in submitted manuscripts may not be used in the editor's own research without the written consent of the author.
JassE: Journal of Social Sciences and Education uses a double-blind review process. Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions. Editors communicate with writers to improve the quality standards of their writing.
Any selected reviewers who feel ineligible to review research reported in a manuscript must notify the editor and withdraw from the review process. The editor will send the manuscript to another reviewer immediately.
Any manuscript accepted for review should be treated as a confidential document. The manuscript may not be shown or discussed with others except with the permission of the editor.
The review must be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Assessors must clearly state their views accompanied by supporting arguments.
Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the author. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument has been previously reported must be accompanied by a relevant citation. The reviewer must also notify the editor if there are substantial similarities or overlaps between the manuscript under consideration and other published papers of which he or she is personally aware.
Confidential information or ideas obtained through peer review should be kept confidential and should not be used for personal gain. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts that contain conflicts of interest due to competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any author, company, or institution associated with the paper.
Standar Pelaporan
The author must present an accurate report on the work done as well as an objective discussion of its significance. The basic data must be presented accurately in the paper. The paper must contain sufficient details and references for others to replicate the work. False or deliberately inaccurate statements are unethical and unacceptable behavior.
Authors must ensure that they have written a completely original work, and if the author has used the work and/or words of others, it has been properly cited or listed.
In general, an author should not publish a manuscript that essentially describes the same research in more than one major journal or publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is unethical publishing behavior and therefore unacceptable.
Proper recognition of the work of others is obligatory. The author must cite publications that are influential in determining the current nature of the work.
Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the manuscript. All parties who have made significant contributions must be listed as co-authors. If there are other parties who have participated in a particular substantive aspect of the research project, they should be recognized or listed as contributors. The author of the correspondence must ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no non-corresponding co-authors are listed in the manuscript, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the manuscript and have approved its submission for publication.
All authors must disclose in their manuscripts any other financial or substantive conflicts of interest that may be considered to affect the outcome or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for this project must be disclosed..
If an author discovers significant errors or inaccuracies in his or her published work, it is the author's obligation to immediately notify the editor of the journal JassE: Journal of Social Sciences and Education and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the manuscript.
